Soft Candlestick - Soft Yellow

HAY has teamed up with Copenhagen design team Wang & Söderström to create a series of organic-shaped candlesticks.

The "Soft Candlestick" is like acrylic paint squeezed out of a paint tube. The ceramic surface is covered with a smooth glaze, and different sides will produce interesting shadows and gestures under the light, which is both playful and eye-catching.

The development process of the soft candlesticks first uses 3D printing technology to repeatedly make design samples, and then they are re-molded in a ceramic factory to ensure that each porcelain work can achieve the most precise shape in terms of details.

Wang & Söderström have created an interesting contrast in this collection; the designers wanted to give the objects an organic form, as if they came from parts of plants or animals, while retaining their digitally manufactured strangeness.
